Richie has been active his entire life, growing up playing all sports, that eventually led to a college scholarship in football. He initially planned on obtaining a teaching degree and returning to the Roswell area to coach high school sports. However, a persistent calling to help others and family heritage of serving in the fire service, led him to join the Roswell Fire Department. During his paramedic internship in Albuquerque, NM a group encouraged him to start training others and so began his mission to build the best fitness facility in the surrounding area.
Richie had no formal training growing up and at one time was overweight and “out of shape.” His hunger for knowledge, competitive background, and mission to train youths specifically, led him to open his own facility. Once open he knew he had to lead by example and look the part. He started educating himself by attending seminars and online programs taught by well-known fitness professionals. He also began competing in fitness competitions, and won both national and world titles in the Scotts Firefighter Combat Challenge.
He started a family, expanded the gym to 7,500 square feet, and concentrated on reaching more people through online coaching for the past five years. In order to achieve this, he obtained his nutrition 1 certification and created a methodical diet plan for quick and long-term weight loss.
